Closing or deleting your account
What happens to your data, subscriptions and access when you ask us to delete your account.

Before you start
- Check your subscription under Subscription and cancel it if you want to be sure no further payment is taken. Keep the confirmation email.
- Download anything you want to keep, such as your analytics export and notes.
Closing versus erasing
Under Settings → Data and privacy there are two different requests.
- Close my account signs you out everywhere and stops auto-renewal. Your data is erased after 30 days unless you contact us to reopen the account.
- Erase my data is permanent. You will lose your learning history, notes, mock results, SQE2 work, AI conversations and any remaining paid access. If you are owed a refund, request it before erasure.
Both ask you to tick an acknowledgement and confirm your password so that nobody else can do it for you.
What is deleted and what is kept
- Your profile, practice history, notes, flashcards, plans and AI conversations are deleted or anonymised.
- We must keep some records for tax, accounting and fraud-prevention reasons, for example invoices and payment records, for the period the law requires.
- Anonymised, aggregated statistics that can no longer identify you may be retained.
Access after deletion
Content purchased on the account, including course access and gifts, ends with the account. If you may want to return, ask support about options before you delete.
